The University of Toronto and partner hospitals, in collaboration with the University Health Network, will receive $300,000 as part of Intellectual Property Ontario (IPON) initiative and will direct the funds to the development of an entrepreneurship-in-residence program.

IPON is a provincial agency that provides IP support and services to enable Ontario businesses and researchers to innovate and grow, has announced its new investment of $2.9 million to support innovation and commercialization projects at 10 post-secondary institutions across the province.
