This webinar will be an opportunity to hear from a Medicine by Design-funded investigator. This session will feature Thomas Hurd, a Medicine by Design New Investigator, and he will discuss his work on mitochondrial quality control in the Drosophila germline.
Thomas Hurd completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, PhD at the University of Cambridge (UK) and post-doctoral training at New York University School of Medicine (USA). The central focus of his research is understanding how mitochondria influence stem cell function, fate and differentiation. His research also focuses on how mitochondria are inherited from mother to offspring.
